Phra Khun Paen amulets from Wat Ban Krang, crafted in the Samadhi mold, were blessed by Luang Por Mui of Wat Don Rai in BE2490. These amulets are particularly auspicious for individuals born on a Thursday. The creation of these Khun Paen amulets, using the Samadhi mold, was overseen by Phra Khru Aphat Silakhun (Phra Palat Thawi, Luang Por Mui’s nephew) of Wat Ban Krang around BE2490. Phra Palat Thawi instructed his disciples to collect broken and damaged amulets from Wat Ban Krang and other crypts throughout Suphan Buri province to use as sacred ingredients. The blessing ceremony took place in BE2491, with seven highly respected monks performing the rituals:Luang Por Mui, Wat Don Rai
- Luang Por Taem, Wat Phra Loi
- Luang Por Toh, Wat Lat Tan
- Luang Por Thir, Wat Pa Lelai
- Luang Por Sai, Wat Ban Krang
- Luang Por Kham, Wat No Phuttakun
- Luang Por Pliang, Wat Suwannaphum
The amulets were pressed in the temple of Wat Ban Krang, with the process of burning the amulets carried out exclusively on Saturdays according to ancient texts, until the desired number of Ban Krang amulets was produced.
In 1949 (B.E. 2492), another Buddhist blessing ceremony was held before the amulets were placed in the original chedi (pagoda), with the following guru monks invited:
- Luang Por Nam (Ajahn Nam), Wat Don Sala, Phatthalung
- Luang Por Pae, Wat Phikun Thong, Singburi
- Luang Por Pliang, Wat Suwannaphum
- Luang Por Mui, Wat Don Rai
- Luang Por Khaek, Wat Hua Khao
- Luang Por Taem, Wat Phra Loi
- Luang Por Toh, Wat Lat Tan
- Luang Por Thir, Wat Pa Lelai
- Luang Por Kham, Wat No Phuttakun
- Luang Por Sai, Wat Ban Krang
The amulets were then placed in the original pagoda.
In BE2511, the pagoda was opened, and many devotees came to pay their respects. The first opening occurred during the time of Field Marshal Thanom Kittikachorn, who requested 4,000 amulets to be distributed to soldiers during the Vietnam War. Later, Field Marshal Praphas Charusathien requested 5,000 amulets for soldiers of the Black Panther Division. Over the years, additional amulets were distributed, including:
- 10,060 amulets presented to His Majesty the King
- 4,500 amulets distributed by Col. Amnuay Surachet to soldiers at Chiraprawat Camp, Nakhon Sawan
- 1,500 amulets given to the Kamphaeng Saen Operations Battalion commander, Nakhon Pathom
- 8,900 amulets distributed to soldiers on the Aranyaprathet border in 1980
- 10,000 amulets distributed to the public for merit-making in 1981
Throughout the entire process, from the material gathering to the pressing and blessing ceremonies, Luang Por Mui was involved. There are several different molds of these Phra Khun Paen amulets, all created with meticulous care and sacred materials.
